The Nepal Private Equity Association successfully conducted the workshop “Empowering Growth: Introductory Workshop on Private Equity and Venture Capital in Nepal” on December 2, 2024, at the NPEA premises. This event marked the first of five workshops supported by the USAID Trade and Competitiveness Program, designed to provide informative sessions to industry stakeholders. The inaugural session hosted 10 journalists representing 9 media outlets. Participants included journalists from prominent media organizations such as New Business Age, Clickmandu, Setopati, and The Annapurna Post.
The program began with welcome remarks by NPEA Chairperson Mr. Siddhant Raj Pandey. This was followed by a presentation titled “Introduction to PEVC” by Mr. Deepak Sharma, Investment Director at Business Oxygen, who shared insights into the workings of the private equity industry, including its current structures. The session also featured a presentation titled “Regulatory Issues in the PEVC Industry” by Ms. Pratikshya Dahal, Senior Associate at Pioneer Law Associates, who provided an in-depth understanding of the regulatory challenges faced by the sector.
The session was productive, and we look forward to engaging with other relevant stakeholders who could benefit from similar informative sessions.
